Bristol is officially Britain's first Cycling City and a great place to enjoy cycling whether on specific cycle paths, at the Family Cycling Centre, with a group or at a local event. It is home to the first modern cycle route the famous Bristol-Bike Railway Path and Sustrans as well as a whole host of other beautiful, exciting and adventurous two wheeled activities.

Bike Tracks & Wheel Parks

If you are feeling brave then Bristol also hosts a large number of Pump and Jump tracks, wheel parks and Skateparks which are all free.

Arnos Park Jump Park Bristol's latest pump and jump track track at Arno's Court Park includes rollers, small jumps, doubles and berms. Hampstead Rd, Bristol BS4 3HJ

Hengrove BMX and Skate Park An all concrete park consisting of street and transition elements with super smooth surfaces and a lot of grip. It is split into two main sections and holds something for everyone of all abilities. Hengrove Way, Hengrove, Bristol, BS14

St Georges Skatepark An outdoor concrete skatepark with bowls, hips and lots of transition. Built and then renovated by Wheelscape.  St.George Park Skatepark, Lyndale Road, Bristol, BS5 7AA

Stockwood Bike Track, A Mini 4X Downhill track with some decent sized jumps and a pump track. Stockwood, Whittock Road, near Burnbush Primary School, BS14 8DQ

Hillfields Pump Track A compact and well-designed track in Hillfields, East Bristol. Gorse Hill, Bristol BS16 4EG

Eastville Park Track Contains a little set of semi-official dirt jumps in Eastville Park, at the north west end of the allotments between Everest Road and Redhill Drive, BS16 2BZ

Brunel Way Pump Track Near Bristol City Centre has been designed to allow riders to ride around the undulating course by using jumps and rollers to gain momentum.  Cumberland Basin, underneath the Brunel Way A37

Dean Lane Skate Park, or the ‘Deaner’ as it’s known locally, is made up of concrete ramps on a tarmac base that is arranged around two sides of the football pitches in Dame Emily Park, Dean Lane, Bristol BS3 1DL


Bike Centres

In recent years two cycling centres have emerged which are a great place to learn to cycle, regain your cycling confidence or hone your cycling skills.

Bristol Cycling Centre at Hengrove offers a range of different drop in bike sessions and gives people of all ages and abilities the chance to ride in a traffic-free environment.

British Cycling have created HSBC UK Ready Set Ride, an excellent interactive website full of with free, quick and easy games, tips and advice that will help you teach your child how to pedal – having lots of fun along the way.
